More than 40 volunteers came together on Saturday morning to support the ‘Green Up’ Australia Day event in Blackall, delivering a fantastic community effort to brighten several public spaces across town.

Meeting at the Blackall Hub, community members of all ages rolled up their sleeves to help plant flowers and greenery, adding fresh colour and life to key areas around the township.

Volunteers planted pots along Shamrock Street in the main street precinct, refreshed the garden area surrounding the amenities in Short Street, and revitalised garden beds at the Blackall Cultural Centre. The collective effort has already made a visible difference, bringing new vibrancy to some of the town’s most well-used community spaces.

Blackall-Tambo Regional Council would like to sincerely thank the many residents who took part and contributed their time and energy to the day.

The strong turnout reflects the pride locals take in their community and the shared commitment to keeping Blackall clean, welcoming and attractive for residents and visitors alike.

Council extends its appreciation to the volunteers whose enthusiasm and teamwork made the day such an overwhelming success.
