Blackall Saleyards & Transit Centre
The iconic Blackall Saleyards, established in 1968, is situated in the heart of western Queensland's cattle country. Today the facility is the major selling centre in Western Queensland.
Drawing cattle from a vast geographical area, over 130,000 head of cattle pass through these yards each year.
The regular Thursday sales commence at 8.30am and includes a monthly weaner & store sale. These sales are well supported by all major processors, feedlots and re-stockers.
The Blackall Saleyards are both EU and Organic accredited, boosting a modern weighing facility, bull selling ring and 2 bay washdown area.
Visitors can experience the action of live selling from the purpose built viewing platform. A country style canteen operates during sales.

Key messages - Storms
- We're renowned for our spectactular storms here in Queensland
- At their best storms can be a welcome part of summer, but at their worst they can be unpredictable and can occur with little warning and potential to cause substantial damage to homes and vehicles.
- That's why it is important to understand your risk and have a plan in place to help reduce the impact of storms on you, your loved ones, home and business.
Flooding
- Heavy rain caused by storms can lead to flash flooding
- Remember to never walk, swim or drive in flood water because you can never tell what's lurking beneath or the strength of the road below.
- If it's flooded, forget it
