Blackall-Tambo Regional Council offers a range of function venues available for hire across the region. Suitable for both community and commercial events, our venues can accommodate everything from meetings and workshops to celebrations and large-scale functions.

For functions which intend to serve alcohol on Council property, please also submit an Application for Approval to Consume Liquor on Council Controlled Land form.
Blackall Function Venues
Cultural Centre
The Blackall Cultural Centre is the region's premier indoor venue, offering a modern and flexible space for conferences, community events, exhibitions, performances, weddings and special celebrations. Conveniently located in the heart of Blackall, the air-conditioned facility is designed to accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale events.

Memorial Park
Memorial Park is a centrally located public space adjacent to the Blackall Cultural Centre, featuring the town’s war memorial and commemorative elements. The park provides a quiet setting for reflection and community remembrance, and is a focal point for ANZAC Day and other commemorative events.
Use of the public park space for events or functions can be requested through Blackall-Tambo Regional Council.

Blackall Memorial Hall on Short Street is a historic community venue located in the centre of town, providing a traditional hall space for meetings, events, performances and community gatherings. It remains an important local facility for civic functions, cultural activities and community use, supporting a range of small to medium-sized events in Blackall.

Blackall Showgrounds
Blackall Showgrounds is the region’s primary outdoor events precinct, providing a large open site for agricultural shows, rodeos, sporting events, markets and community gatherings. The facility includes exhibition and event space, livestock and arena areas, and supporting infrastructure suitable for large-scale regional events.
Given the many areas and facilities available to hire within the Showgrounds, please contact Blackall-Tambo Regional Council to discuss your venue hire needs.

Banks Park
Banks Park is a centrally located community park in Blackall, featuring a large grassed open space, night lighting and a playground. Positioned on a corner site along the main street, it is well suited to community events, fetes, outdoor gatherings and informal recreation.
Use of the public park space for events or functions can be requested through Blackall-Tambo Regional Council.

Blackall Racecourse is a key regional sporting and events venue used for horse racing and training, and is also a popular setting for weddings, memorial services and large community functions. Grassland Gallery
Grassland Gallery and Multipurpose Centre is a contemporary community facility in Tambo that showcases local art and cultural exhibitions, while also providing a flexible space for workshops, meetings, events and community activities. Please note that hire fees and bond must be paid prior to collecting a key to any Council facility. The bond will be refunded after an inspection has been carried out by a Council employee. Policies regarding venues and other Council hire options can be found here.
