Saleyards

The iconic Blackall Saleyards, established in 1968, is located in the heart of Western Queensland’s cattle country and has grown to become a major selling centre for the region.

Drawing cattle from across a vast geographical area, more than 200,000 head of cattle pass through the yards each year. Regular Thursday sales commence at 8.30am, with a monthly weaner and store sale also held. Sales are strongly supported by major processors, feedlots and restockers from across the industry.

The Blackall Saleyards are EU and Organic accredited, featuring modern weighing facilities, a dedicated bull selling ring and a two-bay washdown area.

Visitors are welcome to experience the atmosphere of a live cattle sale from the purpose-built viewing platform, with a canteen operating during sales.

The Blackall Saleyards continues to support the needs of beef producers and buyers with a modern, well-equipped facility in the heart of Queensland’s beef country.
